Your Employee Handbook, New Perspectives for 2018

A Guideline for Employees, or a Goldmine for Plaintiffs’ Attorneys?

Your employee handbook is your most valuable tool for communicating your company’s policies, practices, and vision. A carefully-constructed, concise, and up-to-date handbook can motivate your employees and solidify the team around compliant, organization-specific best practices. An outdated, poorly written, template-based handbook will inevitably lead to confusion, mismanagement, and lawsuits. Really, we see it every day!

Join EverythingHR’s Senior Consultant Mark Nelson for a timely review of employee handbook compliance. We will focus on best practices for developing and updating handbooks, and we will examine strategies and approaches. Topics of discussion include:

  • Common mistakes and legal pitfalls
  • Recent, new, and revised policies for 2018
  • Policies requiring special attention
  • Strategy: Less is more
  • Strategy: Who should write/revise your handbook
  • Strategy: Legal review
  • Strategy: Your handbook and employee engagement
  • Your questions and concerns
